Ljiljana Pavlic (1974) Member of the Competition Council Before Ms Pavlic was appointed a member of the Competition Council she was the head of the Department for the prevention of abuse of a dominant position and assessment of agreements of undertakings in the CCA where she had been employed since 2005, first as a senior advisor, than as the head of the unit for services market, later the head of the Department for assessment of concentrations between undertakings. Thus, her career in the CCA involved all matters in the area of competition – from assessment of compatibility of concentrations and establishment of abuse of a dominant position to assessment of agreements between undertakings.

In 2007 she worked in the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission on the jobs involving assessment of compatibility of concentrations between undertakings.

From 2000 to 2005 she was employed in the business sector, carrying out jobs related to market analyses and international trade.

Ms Pavlic graduated at the Faculty for Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, where in 2009 she also took her MBA degree (academic degree master of science) in the area of competition, with her thesis Relevant market: Concentration of services in the European Union – law and practice.

In 2011 she was trained at the Fordham Competition Law Institute, Fordham University School of Law, New York, US, under the specialist programme aimed at economists dealing with competition law and policy.

She is a doctoral student at the doctoral programme of the Faculty for Economics and Business, University of Zagreb.

She is a member of the working groups within the ECN (European Competition Network) in the area of economy, banking and payments.

She speaks English, German, Italian and French.
