If you’re a young person digging for his or her Croatian roots, or a pensioner with nostalgia for her or his country of birth, now is the time to make your first step towards visiting and discovering Croatia – the country you would love to take back home.

Accommodation prices are still very reasonable but I am sure they will increase in the years to come. More and more, young and not so young tourists from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, USA, Asia and Europe visit Croatia every year. If you meet some them by chance I am sure they’ll tell you to visit Croatia – the place which is gorgeous in the morning and joyful at night.

Year by year, the overall number of visitors increases because Croatia has become one of Europe’s coolest destinations, and not only during the summer season. Huge tourist increases have been recorded this year in Zagreb, Split, Zadar, Šibenik, Rovinj, and Dubrovnik in spring, autumn and winter seasons – especially during the Christmas and New Year period. Most visitors appear to be spellbound in Croatia – the place to share with friends and loved ones.

Naturally, some of the visitors are Croatians who live abroad or Americans, Australians, Canadians, and so on, of Croatian background. But I would like to see even more of you, who are reading this, visiting us and mixing with local people of your generation. Young people in Croatia speak English and love to interact. Come and meet Croatia – your home away from home.

Today’s Croatia is a place of international and multicultural interactions, and a country of challenges and opportunities. For example, as of today, Croatia’s Prime Minister is Tim Orešković who grew up in Canada. Tim is a former prominent international company executive who decided to accept an earlier invitation to come here and get involved in politics. Furthermore, many non-Croatians from EU countries, North America and Australia have immigrated and invested in Croatia – the country for interactions and integrations.

So, make your move. Become a tourist in the country of your origin. Please don’t think that I am some kind of o tourist industry propaganda do-gooder. I am just an ordinary believer in Croatia – heaven on earth, and beyond.

Best wishes,
